LASER CUTTING

LA WALKER (Oak plywood)

So This is this the start of something magical ?

my first Laser cutting, and my first prototype of LA WALKER, .... problems, I hate Amazon, I am waiting on both my wingnuts and bolts and also the (Lamp kit) so it may be a while till this product is actually finished, but I am keeping up hope to be finished by the end of the week.

but I am enjoying My GA and I haven't exploded and machines or injured myself yet (ah workshop injury's - fun times).

BUT WHEN YOU DO F%*CK UP!

Now I agree I am stupid, but honestly I don't work in inches, so when I read 4th inch, I assumed that meant 1/4 of an inch which works out as 6.35mm, it dose not it works out as 5MM .... BLOODY INCHES AHHHHHHHH MM RULE.

But the great thing about LA WALKER is that thankfully all its parts are very ........ Steam punk like .... so a bit of decoration for my bare studio .... Not such a waste after all.

And picture frame Steam Punkyness .... WHY NOT!

Re: LA WALKER

messing around with colour and material:

ACRYLIC PLASTIC:

THE YELLOW CRANE

WOOD VERSION

WOOD GRAIN (moan)

I never was the good at rendering wood (I always seem to muck up the grain, I feel like I need a lesson in rendering wood grain!).

I think that LA WALKER will actually look rather imposing with a wood gain, so instead of fannying around with badly attempted wood grain I think it would be best to make a prototype.

RE work Of lamp

I felt as if the light itself was not fully there yet, and needed a re work and a certain fine tuning:

1) the actual head was way out of proportion with the body
2) the legs were extremely ugly and lacked the same style with which the top proportion was stylized.

The light base has taken on a far better stylized and flowing form from before

NEW LAMP NAME

THE LA WALKER

I NEED  A NEW LAMP!!!

So I have just started a brilliant course at CCAD and am currently feeling rather bare, or rather my studio is ! so I have decided to change this with some WORK (work at college HA!), here are some first looks at my LIGHT!
